Short Encounter

Bob and I spent only a few days with Rick and Maureen on our cruise to Alaska. We our in Pennsylvania, but over the last 5 years on the internet, we feel like they have become one of our best friends. We love you guys so much. We got the biggest kick out of Maureen calling us Robert E Lee. Rick and Blake our hearts and prayers are with you.

You Were A Godsend To Us

Maureen, you were a godsend to us and our family, always ready to help at a moments notice. We will never forget the tears you shed each time you held the new baby or the handwritten notes tucked into each gift. We knew that when we knocked on your door we would be welcomed with open arms. Quick Visits often turned into an afternoon with a feast of delicious food, lots of laughter and a cold beer. The love and caring that you showed our family will never be forgotten.

My Fondest Memory of Maureen

My fondest memory of Maureen was going to her house after school. On the way there, Liv and I would always predict what snack she would make for us. She was an amazing baker! I also remember baking with Maureen from a very young age. I loved making cheese sticks with her! Maureen always had a smile on her face and was always excited to hear about our accomplishments and events going on in our lives. I love her so much and will miss her deeply.

A special lady

Maureen was so special to our family. She was the most kind, loving, and wonderful lady. I remember as a young child being babysat by Maureen and Rick many times, and how much fun it was to go to their house and play with wooden blocks, read that big nursery rhyme book and bake goodies (and even hear Rick play the pan flute!). As my siblings and I grew older, we continued to regularly visit. Our family made a tradition of having a get-together with the Matthews every holiday, including Mother's and Father's Day as that is how close we were to both Maureen and Rick. Maureen took such a liking to us kids and my family and I feel so lucky to have known Maureen for my whole life. I just wish I could've hugged her and heard her beautiful laugh one last time. She will be very deeply missed.
