There's so much to say about the person Vern was. The day I met Vern almost 18 years ago he had his big smile on and I was welcomed by one of many of his welcoming hugs. And all thru his life even battling cancer he never changed, still had a smile on his face and making us laugh. He always had such funny stories to share . And loved to tease me about non "spicy food" being spicy . As I made the mistake to call something spicy when it wasn't. He loved his great nieces with all his heart. He shone with such a bright light. And made sure to always make them laugh and sneak my oldest treats. He was the definition of living life to the fullest. You will be greatly missed. Luv you . Deepest condolences to the Greene team

Sad to hear, I have great memories of Vern from our time working shift work together in Fox Creek. His great sense of humour and being such a generous person made him a pleasure to be around. My condolences to his family.

Vern was one of the funniest people we have ever met. Vern was able to keep every kid in the neighbourhood “on their toes”. His quick ease of humour always made the unsuspecting an easy target hollowed by Vern howling in laughter.... he made our neighbourhood fun. I remember he asked my 5 year old granddaughter who came to my house .... who she was, and what did she want...... she told him she came to see Nana and Nana was taking her to the park...... He said “ oh really??? Your nana already went to the park and bought ice cream for all the other grandkids .... and then he howled in laughter .... Vern couldn’t wait to proudly tell me how this all went down. Vern was also a very caring man. He made a point of knowing all of the people in his neighbourhood and wether you parted after a long conversation with him or a quick hello; you left feeling special and that you mattered. Vern is and will be Very much missed.
