We remember meeting you, Eike and the boys, when we were about to have our house built in the lot beside yours. It was nice to know that we had such welcoming neighbours. It was because of Eike that fences were put up and that I got my clothesline. We had many talks over the fence and because of Eike got to know the rest of the neighbours. The neighbourhood has gotten less welcoming since Eike and you moved out. Eike had a way of getting to know people and bring them together. He will be missed. our thoughts and prayers are with you. While only with 427 Sqn for a short time, Eike made the most of his time in Petawawa. The word "mentor" has been used several times in other messages. Eike was that, and then some. He looked out for me and helped me navigate my military career with a few well chosen words of advice.
He made an impression wherever he went and is missed by those of us lucky enough to have met him.

My sincere condolences to Connie and the entire family. May your warm memories of Eike bring you great comfort and happiness. He was a true “gentle man”. Many wonderful memories of great times at 400 Sqn/2TASS/2RSU days.

My sincerest condolences to the Family. I worked with Ike at 416 Sqn Cold Lake during the early 90's as a young technician and deployed with him as well; honest character and excellent sense of humour. Honoured to have the chance to meet up again, briefly at Ident section Cold Lake while on a site visit June 2018. Respectfully, Frederick "Bull Shannon" Sherrington
