Beverly Patricia Cooper (Anderson) (Bruce) 1945 ~ 2019

It is with deep sadness that the family of Beverly Patricia Cooper (Anderson) (Bruce) of Bonnyville announces her sudden passing in Vermilion, AB on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the age of 73 years.

Beverly was the third child born to Elmer and Evelyn Anderson of Norquay, Saskatchewan. The family moved to what was then Grande Centre in 1959. It was there that she met her first husband Floyd Bruce circa 1961. The couple were married in 1962. Following the work available at the time, they made their home in several towns, including Yellowknife, NWT where Floyd worked in the mines for eight years.

Beverly and Floyd moved to Bonnyville circa 1970. Here she raised her four children and became a vital member of the community. Attending church, becoming a foster mother for several years, driving bus and volunteering in numerous capacities.

Beverly and Floyd were divorced in 1984. She remarried to Sydney Cooper on Valentine’s Day in 1990. After 28 years of marriage, Sydney passed away in the summer of 2018. During their time together, they shared a love for animals and had a travelling petting zoo and took time to teach kids and provide school trips with a fun place to learn about animals.
After her retirement she continued to drive the handi-bus and the senior bus up until last year. She had a deep love for Jesus and was a very spiritual person, relying on her beliefs in Christ to get her through many tough spots.
Many people will remember Beverly as a person who made them feel special. She was giving and loving to the very end.

To Beverly's surprise and delight, a new love entered her life and she was engaged to be married this coming June to Hugh Fleming.

Beverly leaves behind her fiance: Hugh Fleming and four children: Lila (Richard) Gault, Holly Bruce (Robert Cormier), Brent (Woneta) Bruce, Stacy Bruce (Angel Allen); eight grandchildren: Erik (Pam) Gault, Teddi Gault (Shawn Poworoznik), Tanner Eefting (Jordan Joseph), Marley (Ian) Paterson, Megan Bruce, Kayla Bruce, Levi Bruce, Rylee Bruce; four great grandchildren: Elias Sholter, Kire Gault, Arkael Gault, Harvie Poworoznik; six step children: Evelyn (Robert) Bordeleau, Bob (Georgia) Cooper, Rose (Peter) Gregoire, Don Cooper, Ben Cooper (Irene Schurek), Jo-Anne Cooper; nine step grandchildren: Keith (Becky) Bordeleau, Curtis (Ashley) Bordeleau, Mackenzie Cooper, Marc & Daniel Gregoire, Sydney (Trevor) Baranoski, Cassidy Cooper (Andrew Boisvert), Brandon & Kendall Schurek; five step great grandchildren: Regan & Avery Bordeleau, Eli & Myles Bordeleau, Brinley Baranoski;

Beverly was predeceased by her husband: Sydney Cooper; parents: Elmer & Evelyn Anderson and is survived by her three siblings Wesley (Tilda) Anderson, Max (Janice) Anderson, Bonnie (Wayne) Hatch; as well as many loving members of her family, countless friends & acquaintances.

Celebration of Beverly’s Life, Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre Fieldhouse, Bonnyville, AB with Pastor David McClain officiating. Final resting place, St. John’s United Church Cemetery, Bonnyville, AB.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in memory of Beverly may be sent to one of these causes Beverly was passionate about: send a kid to Camp Shekinah, c/o Bonnyville Baptist Church, Long Term Care Resident Council, c/o Bonnyville Health Care or Courage Canada, Brain Injury Awareness.

Bev was very kind to me from the first day that we met. I still don't believe that she is gone. I keep going to tag her in a post on Facebook or to think I have to tell her something on Facebook chat. On June 1st we were putting sympathy cards in a basket; all I could think was on June 29th we would have been putting wedding cards in a basket. I'm glad that she got to have several very happy months before she passed away so unexpectedly.

Dear Family,
I was so saddened to hear of Beverly's tragic passing. I am the pastor from Irma that Beverly asked to officiate at her upcoming wedding to Hughie Fleming on June 29th. I remember how happy and expectant she was of her new life ahead. I hope you will take comfort in memories of her life and in knowing she is at rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God be with you, comfort and strengthen you (2 Cor. 1:3). Ed Roste (Pastor, Sharon Lutheran Church, Irma, AB).

Dear Beverley and Family, So sorry for your loss. Beverley had such a kind, sweet nature, which drew people to her, although I haven't seen her much these past years, I remember her riding our school bus so long ago. Hugs to her Friends and Family. Audrey Harris and Family
