After a courageous battle with cancer, Gaston "Gus" Oscar Hamel of Cold Lake, Alberta passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side.
Gus will be forever remembered and loved by his wife of 59 years, Sharon Hamel of Cold Lake; daughter: Jacqueline (Dale) Harlton of St. Albert, AB; three sons: Greg (Chiara), Reg (Suzy), Robert (Jennifer), all of Cold Lake; sixteen grandchildren: Emily (Pierre) Côtê, Jacob (Alanna) Hamel, Hannah (Steve) Jamieson, Monica (Russell) Plouffe, Gabriel Hamel, Bridget Hamel, Sophia Hamel, Sara (Darcy) Le Drew, Jolene Hamel, Lora Hamel, Katie (Mike) Cheung, Jesse Harlton, Scott Harlton, Danielle Hamel, Andrew Hamel, Matthew Hamel; four great grandchildren: Kainen Côtê, Freya Côtê, Brooks Plouffe, Heidi Jamieson; two brothers: Raymond (Doreen) Hamel, Joffre (Janis) Hamel; sister: Georgette Hamel; sister-in-law: Fleurette Hamel.
Gus was predeceased by his parents: Jeanne & Joe Hamel; two brothers: Laurier & Reg Hamel; niece: Lise Hamel.
Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 10:45 a.m. at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church, Cold Lake, AB with Father Limneo Zamora as celebrant and Father Rene Realuyo as co-celebrant. Final Resting Place, St. Dominic Roman Catholic Cemetery, Cold Lake, AB.
