On the evening of Sunday, February 24th, 2019 Evelyn passed from this life to her eternal home with the Lord, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.

Evelyn was born in Bonnyville, AB on September 8, 1948 to Jacob and Katherine Koziol. She is survived by her brothers, Peter & Michael and sister-in-law, Mary, all of Iron River, AB, and her brother, Joseph (Lynne) and nephews, Nathan & Timothy, all of Kamloops, BC.

She was predeceased by her father and mother, Jacob & Katherine Koziol, and brothers Stanley and David.

She was a Lab Technician who was employed by Syncrude Canada for 35+ years until her retirement in 2014. Family and her faith in Jesus were very important to Evelyn. She loved to travel the world, with Australia being one of her favourite places.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Capital Care Norwood Hospice, Edmonton, for the loving care they provided Evelyn during her last seven months.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ City Church, Edmonton, on March 1st at 2:00 p.m., and at Bonnyville Pentecostal Church, Bonnyville, with internment to follow, on March 6th at 11:00 a.m.

Arrangements entrusted to Memento Funeral Home, Bonnyville.

Condolences may be expressed at www.

Respectfully The Koziol Family

I was very sad to hear that my dear friend, Evelyn passed away. I was away on a family ski trip March 1-3 and found out upon my return. I met Evelyn while she was shopping in a boutique where I was working. We struck up a conversation and immediately she began to tell me what had been going on in her life. I’m a non-surface talker, as well, and prefer to dig right into relational conversations, so we hit it off right away! As soon as she said which church she went to (mine!) I knew God was bringing a couple of His daughters together for a purpose. Evelyn was so very kind and honest and funny! We spent hours together talking about life but mostly about our Lord, Jesus Christ. She loved and trusted Him so very much. Through her trials, she was always the one doing the most encouraging! It was a sad couple of days for me as I helped her pack her condo up so she could move to Edmonton. I knew we’d rarely see each other, if ever, this side of Heaven. But, we’d have Heaven and we both looked forward to that day. We laughed so much going through her things! She’d say “now why would I have kept THAT all these years?!” Then she struggled with getting rid of a bag of bridesmaids dresses she’d worn. She only struggled for a little while, though, and then we decided that I’d take them to the vintage store in Red Deer for her and they’d possibly get another life! She was happy about that but I teased her the rest of the day about wanting to keep those dresses! We laughed and cried all day. I’ll miss her but honestly, I’m so happy for her that she is with her 1st love, Jesus! I will see her again because of our secure salvation in Christ. My heart goes out to Evelyn’s family. My prayers are with you as you absorb this loss. God is the faithful comforter and He will never leave you. He knows.
I never met any of you but for sure, Tim, you were the most prayed up little nephew! She loved her family and we would pray together for God’s mighty hand and His plans to stand for all our family members. She was a prayer warrior filled with faith! Her life, glorifying God all the way! Love you Evelyn and we’ll see you soon 😘

I have many fond memories of Evelyn! She was one of my Dad’s favourites. She always made an effort to come and hug us & tell us she missed us when we were at home in Edmonton at church. It was interesting that I moved to Bonnyville & made my life here & she moved to Edmonton & made her life there! Our deepest condolences to the whole Koziol family! May you all be comforted by the Holy Spirit during this difficult time!
